Welcome to ScottPrattFiction.com, home of the Joe Dillard Series

and internationally published author Scott Pratt...

Look around and make yourself at home. If you enjoy a good read, then you are my treasured guest, and I want you to come back often.

Joe Dillard has remained an idealist, a man who truly believes in the rightness, and fairness of justice, and is never more personally fulfilled than when fighting for it.

Joe is hopelessly devoted to his wife, and to the children they have worked hard to raise well. They are the center of his life. No matter what happens to Joe, he goes home to Caroline – the love of his life – and, together, they revel in the close, abiding love of the family they have made.

Joe is a flawed man. Challenges come at him hard and fast and, sometimes, his buoyant dreams crash to the coarse, even bitter reality of earth. He routinely questions his own character amid his desire and struggle to do what is "right" in a system that seems to show little regard for its founding principle – justice.

Throughout the series, his commitment, courage, resolve and decisions are examined in the face of corruption and injustice inherent, even commonplace in the legal system, especially in small towns. There is nothing perfect about Joe, but there is much to be analyzed, and admired.

I have tried to develop real, honest and interesting characters, through which metaphor and simile may flourish for the enjoyment of you, my cherished reader. I have worked to keep it fast and fun, not dwelling endlessly on detail that many readers tend to skip.

Thank you for joining me in this adventure. I greatly value your trust, and hope you will stick with me as I improve my style and stories, that I might have the great pleasure of entertaining you. I consider it my purpose to usher you to intrigue and irony, to laughter and tears; to cause you to be happy and angry, and to question many things. We need each other, and I hope the experience brings you even a portion of the enjoyment it has given me.

'I've read An Innocent Client and am truly stunned – it's Scott Turow and Grisham on meth. The opening chapter is maybe the most compelling I've read in a decade.'
